A conceptual approach to furniture as object is a natural extension of design development for the gallery aesthetic. This work is inspired and informed by the work and writings of pioneers of conceptual thinking such as Joseph Beuys, Fluxus, Donald Judd, Carl Andre and others. Also present is the direct influence of masters such as Isamu Noguchi, Constantine Brancusi and Piero Giacometti.
The horizons for conceptual thinking in furniture are boundless, and all media — both ancient and digital — are being utilized such as using marble from the mountains of Carrara to 3-D printed works.
